Sechan's configuration management system consists of three baseline elements: product documentation, process documentation, and corporate documentation. Our system identifies product drawings, as well as Sechan-generated documents and processes, which are customer-related. This identification, as well as change control ensures product quality. Sechan’s product baseline defines hardware and software configuration for each product that is built and tested. Our configuration management system also complies with AS9100 and CMMI Level 3, as well as the legacy requirements of MIL-STD-973 and MIL-STD-480/481/483.
Departures from the established baseline take the form of approved changes. Changes move through the development, internal review and evaluation, submittal, customer approval, and implementation phases. Changes are passed to the customer contractual representatives for authorization and, once approved, are implemented in the Sechan manufacturing processes or, in the case of purchased materials, passed to appropriate vendors. The Sechan process for changes includes the traditional Change Control Board (CCB) for either the release of Sechan-proposed changes or review and implementation of customer-directed changes.
Sechan also provides customers with the capability to access their company's respective configuration information such as the Document Library and Configuration ID in order to verify drawing revision levels.
