MK53 DECOY LAUNCHING SYSTEM (DLS)
9/14/2010
In July, Sechan was awarded a contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command for the MK53 Decoy Launching System (DLS). The one year base period is for the delivery of four (4) MK53 DLS ship sets, plus data and engineering services. Four, one-year options exist with a possible total of 15 additional MK53 DLS ship sets. Sechan continues to be the sole source for the MK53 DLS, and has delivered 84 ship sets since 2004.
SECHAN VISITS MILITARY VEHICLE EXHIBITION
7/28/2009
In August, Sechan displayed and demonstrated the Synexxus, Inc.'s Electronic Keel - an Integrated C4ISR System at the Military Vehicles Exhibition and Conference in Detroit, Michigan.
On display was Synexxus' Electronic Keel, the integrated, networked display and control of communications, weapons, and sensors for military vehicles in a single system. Currently deployed in Iraq, the E-Keel reduces space, weight, and power requirements in vehicles by providing a single system for accessing C4ISR and system data in military vehicles with an open-architecture that provides true plug-and-play capability, including mesh networking support for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-dismount networking.
Sechan is the collaborative designer and exclusive manufacturer of the Synexxus' E-Keel, incorporating Sechan's patented cooling technology and design innovations to deliver superior performance with minimal impact on space, weight, and power SWAP requirements within the vehicle.
Sechan also displayed other military systems currently being manufactured at their facility in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, further demonstrating their design and test (functional and environmental) capabilities, as well as manufacturing expertise.
SECHAN EXPOSED AT AFCEA WEST
3/12/2009
Sechan is gaining exposure to both existing customers, as well as to new potential customers and partners by participating in our first National Exposition. We set up our 10' x 10' piece of real estate at the San Diego convention center for three days in mid February for the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) West Annual Convention. It is the largest event on the West Coast for Military communications, electronics, intelligence, information systems, imaging, weapon systems, aviation, and shipbuilding. Manning the display area were Rich Wallace and Dan DaPra (Sechan Sales Consultants) as well as Jim Maerker and MaryBeth Harner (of Sechan's Business Development).
The samples we displayed were the Paladin boxes (PDU-2, PDCU, and Key Pad PDFCS) and F-16 Anti-Skid system, along with a few complex CCAs, as well as various subassemblies from the Paladin system. We set up a backdrop with Sechan images emphasizing our Electrical & Mechanical Engineering abilities and Environmental & Functioning Testing differentiators along with a large image illustrating various programs with products we manufactured. A laptop also shared the display of samples and scrolled through our briefing to assist in telling the Sechan capability story / and share our rich history with attendees.
SECHAN ANNOUNCES EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP
3/12/2009
We are pleased to announce that Sechan is 100% employee-owned. Sechan has fostered employee ownership since 1989 with the ESOP previously owned about 40% of outstanding shares. This change will afford employees more control over their long-term job stability and hopefully, the longevity of the company. We anticipate employees taking a more active role in fostering improved productivity, efficiencies, and resultant profitability. In an uncertain economic environment, we have more direct impact on our future and direction if we, as employees, own 100% of our operation.
We hope you, as customers, see the benefits of this change over the coming years and continue to view Sechan as a value added solution to your business.
HARPOON BLOCK III UPGRADE
3/6/2009
Sechan was recently awarded a contract from Boeing for the next generation upgrade to the Harpoon Missile Launch Control System. This upgrade will add more capability to the Harpoon program and was a natural fit since Sechan currently produces the Harpoon Ship Command and Launch Control System (HSCLCS) and the Advanced Harpoons Weapon Control System (AHWCS). In fact, Sechan has produced more than 50 systems between the two variants since 1998.
ATNAVICS
3/4/2009
The ATNAVICS program has been with Sechan for seven years. In fact, Sechan has been in continuous production on this program since late 2001. We have built and shipped over 860 assemblies.
- 315 Circuit Card Assemblies
- 98 RF Modules
- 180 RF Tray Assemblies
- 270 IBAs
In April we received an order for six sets of assemblies and news that our customer, Raytheon, will be receiving another order for four sets in 2009 plus some spares. With the 268 assemblies still left to ship and more orders coming, this program will be part of our business for quite some time. This is an important program to the military. It allows the Army to quickly set up an Air Traffic Navigation, Integration, and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) from a mobile HMMWV mounted unit, or a Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower.
