PRODUCTION TESTING

American military aircraft

The Production Test Department is a component of the Engineering Department where production test technicians perform routine factory testing in accordance with approved test procedures. Most of the electronic testing is automated, whether ambient acceptance testing or environmental ESS testing.

Another key to meeting customer schedules is maintaining tight control over first article/qualification testing using an extensive array of in-house environmental and EMI testing facilities. Numerous temperature chambers and vibration tables are available for 100% product stress screening on production hardware.

Testing

Sechan has developed numerous automated and semi-automated testers for many programs and the engineering staff is well acquainted with the technical hardware/software tradeoffs that are inevitable in the design process. Typically, these special purpose test systems are fully documented to customer requirements and include a customer certification process before use or acceptance.

Customer test data can be accessed through Sechan's customer portal.

Environmental

Sechan operates and maintains an environmental facility capable of performing Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and many of the common MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-781 and MIL-STD-167 environmental test sequences. The equipment is maintained and calibrated consistent with AS9100 requirements (including references ISO 10012-1, ANSI/NCSL Z540.1, and the now canceled Mil-STD-45662A) for accuracy and NIST traceability.

Environmental testing procedures include:

  • Temperature
  • Thermal Shock
  • Humidity
  • Vibration
  • Shock
  • Salt Fog
  • Altitude/Leak
  • Immersion
  • Combined Environments
  • Cargo Bounce
EMI / EMC

Sechan operates an on-site test facility for determining compliance to MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-462. This capability provides a repeatable and readily-available facility for design verification and production quality audits, while removing the schedule and technical risks inherent in subcontracting this effort.

EMI / EMC testing includes:

  • MIL-STD-461/462 EMI Capabilities
  • Conducted Emissions (CE)
  • Radiated Emissions (RE)
  • Conducted Susceptibility (CS)
  • Radiated Susceptibility (RS)
  • Magnetic Fields (MIL-STD-1399)
  • Power Source Simulation (AC & DC)
