The Production Test Department is a component of the Engineering Department. The production test technicians perform the routine factory testing in accordance with approved test procedures on a three-shift basis.

Most of the electronic testing is automated, whether ambient Acceptance Testing, or environmental ESS testing. Sechan has an extraordinary amount of automated and environmental capital equipment creating a responsive environment for the customer. In addition, the factory accommodates more than 3,000 Sq. Ft of open test benches for manual (low volume), mechanical, RF, and IR testing.

Sechan excels in the cost effective development of automated test equipment for acceptance testing, and utilizes in house DITMCO, Boundary Scan, and Flying probe testers as well.

Another key to meeting customer schedules is maintaining tight control over First Article/Qualification testing using an extensive array of in-house environmental and EMI testing facilities. Numerous temperature chambers and vibration tables are available for 100% product stress screening on production hardware.

Sechan has developed numerous automated and semi-automated testers for many programs and the engineering staff is well acquainted with the technical hardware/software tradeoffs that are inevitable in the design process. Some of these special purpose testers include specific physical sensor emulation (pressure, depth, magnetic fields, acoustic pressure, controlled seismic stimulation, infrared emitters, etc.). Typically, these special purpose test systems are fully documented to customer requirements and include a customer certification process before use or acceptance.
